

You can choose the distance of the camera from your character by holding L1 and using the joystick to adjust the camera distance, zoom in and out. (You’ll find this setting in Character Configuration > Control Settings > General > Movement Settings) If you want to stay nimble, you may find that Legacy will allow you to dodge attacks faster. While the Standard allows you to create more subtle and immersive moments-backstepping, side-stepping-it can slow you down in battle. You can move the character and the camera freely, although the latter will always be locked to the former, so your character will always be in the center of the screen. In Standard, your character will always orient themselves in the direction you move the camera, their back to you. There are two types of movement: Legacy and Standard.

Once you’ve made sure that the controller responds to your liking, let’s start looking at the movement. (You’ll find this setting in Character Configuration > Control Settings > General > Camera Control > Gamepad) There’s also the option of inverting the X or Y axes for those who prefer to play with the controls inverted. (You will find this setting in System Configuration > Gamepad Settings > Button Configuration) You can decide to swap these as you like. By default, the triangle will make you jump, the square will open the mini-map, the cross will be used to target things around you and confirm otherwise, and the circle will be used to cancel. If you want to enjoy custom button configuration, you will be able to change the button mapping to your liking.
